WINE DAYS IN RIVICA

In the spirit of the old traditions Wine Days are held in Rivica (only 5km from Vrdnik) at the beginning of February. During this period, while the village is sleeping peacefully and the peasants are preparing for spring field work, everything is in the sign of wine and delicious food from Srem. Spritzers (wine with soda water) are drunk, čvarci, (cracklings), sausages and krvavice (black pudding) are eaten and the best winemaker and cellarman are chosen. There are also tamburaši (tambourine players) and folk dancers wearing local costumes from Srem. Everyone is merry until late at night.
