FRUSKA GORA MARATHON

It has been held for more than three decades. All the paths are in the hilly and wooded area of Fruska Gora mountain. The marathon race with over 10000 participants takes place once a year, usually on the first of May and it lasts for two days.

During the marathon “vojnički pasulj” (beans cooked in a dixie) is prepared in the very center of Vrdnik. The marathon participants usually say that is the best beans they have ever had. We’re not sure if it’s because of the kilometers they’ve run or because of some secret recipe. It’s on you to decide.
